When someone is expecting, I believe that comfort is the key to a more pleasant pregnancy. I also believe that it is important to feel good about how one looks amidst many body changes! Here are just a few clothing suggestions to help an expectant mom experience this special time in comfort and style! What’s better is that most of these items are not exclusively maternity, which means they can become closet staples for any stage!
First things first, i recommend getting a maternity essentials pack from asos. In it it contains a tank top, a pair of leggings, a maternity skirt, and a short sleeved bodycon dress for $56. Safe to say i wear the skirt and tank top most often. I layer the bodycon dress with long, oversized sweaters.
Tops
I recommend long, flowy or oversized tops. If you know that you carry larger, best to make sure that you size up.
The Esteez daisy top is flowy and loose. It’ll look amazing with a maternity pencil skirt! It is also available on amazon.
The Ellie top is long and roomy, so you can grow into it and then wear as a flowy top postpartum!
If you like t-shirts, I recommend the value pack from asos. It has the ruching on the sides, has a great neckline and the white is not sheer!
When it comes to sweaters and heavier tops, it’s easy to find some that will work for maternity. Oversized style is super popular, so stock up on a few cozy sweaters!
I own this top from Cest Moi in both black and white. It’s a mix between a top and a sweatshirt and has a roomy fit, so it has worked well for me before, during, and after pregnancy!
Dresses
When looking for dresses, you can either take the fitted, bodycon route or you can take the looser look. I prefer the looser look.
Havah Tribe is known for their nursing dresses, but many of their dresses can be worn throughout pregnancy as well! Check out their maternity/nursing selection here.
Mayas audrey dress has a great shape, and I love the turtleneck style!
Esteez daisy dress has a sharkbite hem, a cut that i think looks super flattering, no matter how big or small your belly is! It’s also on amazon.
I announced my pregnancy on instagram with the Mimumaxi shirt dress. Its roomy like their frocks but has buttons down the front making it a great post-baby nursing option
The Mikah Boho Chic dress will complement the growing belly, and tie to hide the post partum tummy, if you desire. Note: the boho chic may not cover knees if you are taller than 5’4, depending on your build.
Denim
The only brand i have tried is SevenTwo Denim’s maternity skirts. They come in a bunch of colors and can be worn after pregnancy as well! I own quite a few of these skirts. Match em up with any tee or top and you look like you’re wearing non-maternity!
Leggings
Though the asos pack comes with a pair of “over the belly” maternity leggings, I prefer to wear my Mimumaxi loyal leggings. They are the most comfortable leggings i own. Just be aware that they are definitely under the belly style.
Tights
I’m not a big tights during pregnancy person, let alone ever, but i have had a very positive experience with Memoi hosiery tights. They are supportive yet comfy. Find them at your local hosiery store or Amazon.

Congratulations and good luck!
